He was born June 9, 1916, a son of the late Samuel and Ida Peterson Carson.
Raymond was a high school graduate and a veteran of WWII serving in the United States Army.
He was a member of the United Presbyterian Grant Hill Church.
Raymond was a truck driver and lived all his life in this area. He enjoyed going to auctions, refinishing furniture, fishing, hunting and traveling, wintering in Florida for many years.
Raymond will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 67 years, Lula Rose Carson; two daughters, Marlene (Rich) Dunlap of Salem, and Verna (Pat) McGivern of Carrollton; five grandchildren, Brenda Miller of Carrollton, Chris Rawlings of Hammondsville, Troy Rawlings of North Canton, Samuel McGivern of Georgia, and Corey McGivern of North Carolina; six great grandchildren, Christina Rawlings, Andrea Rawlings, Tyler Rawlings, Carson Miller, Mark T. Miller and Abigail McGivern.
He was preceded in death by one brother George Carson.
