NEWBURG – William F. "Bud" Frotscher Sr., 86, of R.R. 1, died at 1:05 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, 1990,in Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Oct. 11, 1903, in Bellevue, Ky., he was a son of the late Herman and Elisabeth Bearswell Frotscher.
Early in his life, he was a police reporter for the Cincinnati Enquirer. In 1930, he moved to Maywood, N.J., where he worked for Public Service Coordinated Transport Co. He was employed there for more than 30 years, retiring in 1965.
In 1968, he moved to Newburg, where he assisted his son in the operation of a Christmas tree farm and forest management business.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Rucker Frotscher; a son, William F. Jr. of Newburg; and three grandchildren.
Private burial will be at the convenience of his family in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.
