Mr. Gilbert J. Hess of Wynne, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at his home at the age of 91.
Gilbert was born in Wynne, Arkansas on November 22, 1924 to the late John J. and Rose Snyder Hess. He married Marjorie Davis in 1950. Gilbert was a farmer and lived all of his life in Wynne, Arkansas. He served his country during World War II and in the Korean War. Gilbert was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Wynne, and also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Marie Davis Hess of Wynne; sons, Pat Hess of Alabama; Mike Hess of Wynne; daughters, Judy Marie Hess Barkley of Wynne; Shayne Hess Jones of Florida; twin brother, Albert Hess of Wynne; brothers, Paul Hess and Bobby Hess both of Wynne; sisters, Clara Hess Hylle of Wynne; Margaret Hess Boeckmann of Wynne; Betty Jane Buergler of Tennessee; Dorothy Dittlinger of Indiana; Ruth Wilson of Tennessee; 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Gilbert was preceded in death by his brothers, Billy and Raymond Hess and sisters, Rose Hess Long, Agnes Sorce.
Visitation will be Thursday, 5 until 7 PM at Kernodle Funeral Home, with Rosary beginning at 7 PM. Funeral services will be Friday at 10 AM at St. Peters Catholic Church. Burial will be in Johnson Cemetery.
