Darrell Powell of Denton, Texas went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 15, 2015.
He was born in Graham, Texas on October 20, 1935. He graduated from Graham High School in 1953 and attended Texas Tech University and The University of North Texas. He served for several years in the army on active duty as well as the army reserves. He was a member of The First Christian Church of Graham. Darrell worked for Bill Utter Ford for 50 years and was well known for his service to the Denton community.
His parents, Roland and Audra Powell of Graham, and his sister Linda Sue Powell preceded him in death. He was survived by his sister and brother in law; his brother and nieces, nephew, and niece, along with over 10 great nieces and nephews. He will be loved and deeply missed by many.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 17, 2015 from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton. Funeral service will be Friday, December 18, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors. Graveside burial will follow at 2:30 P.M. at Pioneer Cemetery in Graham.
