Daughter of Pierre (1861 - unknown) and his wife Marie Perrine (née Evain) Chateau, who came to Canada with their eldest daughter, Marie-Louise, in 1894.
The couple raised a family in the area around Cardinal, Manitoba, one that included four daughters and three sons.
After a trip to visit France in 1919, Pierre decided to return there permanently in 1920 with his wife and their eldest son, Antonin, where they lived out their lives.
