Eunice Elizabeth Landers Montgomery passed away Wednesday, December 16 at the Merit Health Natchez Hospital at the age of 89. Born November 10, 1926, Eunice was the daughter of Johnny Dodds Landers and Mattie Elizabeth Landers. She was a life-long resident of Natchez.

Eunice is survived by children, Johnny David Montgomery and Alice Elizabeth Montgomery-Thorpe, both of Natchez; grandchildren, Tara Elizabeth Rigby of Biloxi, Ms. and Johnny Patrick Thorpe of Vidalia, La.; great-grandchildren, Zachary Montgomery, Jimmy Ray Hardy, III, and Mason Elizabeth Thorpe; sisters, Evelyn McDonald of Fayetteville, AR and Virginia Landers of Philadelphia, MS., nieces, Jill Rigby Garner of Baton Rouge and Frances Mayo of Fayetteville, AR.

Eunice was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Leroy Montgomery.

Eunice enjoyed a long professional life that began with work for attorney, Wilfred Geisenberger, followed by secretarial work for Johns Manville. As a lifelong learner, she became a court reporter before finishing her public life as a public accountant. Most of all, she was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Vidalia.

Services will be at Calvary Baptist Church in Vidalia at 10 am on Saturday, December 19thwith burial following at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home. Visitation is at 9am until service time.
