Lester Sterling Phillips, 74, of Shelley passed away at Turtle and Crane Assisted Living Facility on December 15, 2015.

Lester was born in Idaho Falls on March 14, 1941 the son of Edward and Ida Phillips.

He married Nellie Lou Lindsay on October 20, 1961. Lester and Nell raised their three boys in Ucon, Idaho, Scott (Dawn) Phillips of Rigby, Reece (Nan) Phillips of Preston, Jason Phillips of Idaho Falls.

He worked for many years as a local farmer and Professional Truck Driver. He was driver of the year for Browning Frieghtline of Idaho Falls and in 1999 was driver of the year for the state of Idaho.

Lester is survived by his wife Nell, their three boys, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother Ross, sisters Norma Barlow, Marie Whitworth and Adele Barber.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Joe, George, Wayne, David, and Victor, a son, Bradley and a grandson, Crew.

A Special thanks to Turtle and Crane Assisted Living, Hearts for Hospice and the Shelley 1st Ward.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Nalder Funeral Home, 110 W Oak Street, in Shelley. The family will receive friends Saturday morning for one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Ucon Cemetery.
