Martha Alice Posey Martha "Alice" Posey, 87, of Franklin, entered into rest on Thursday, June 22, 2006.
A native of Gastonia, NC, she was the daughter of the late Arthur H. Moore and Elizabeth Caroline Cable Moore.
She was married to the late Alfred Henry Posey who died in 1993 and was preceded in death by a grandson, Alfred Breedlove and a great grandson, Johnny Ray Hogue.
Alice was a member of Tellico Baptist Church and had worked at Belden Wire and Cable for many years.
She is survived by two sons, Douglas MacArthur Posey and Alfred Lee "Cotton" Posey both of Franklin; four daughters, Joyce Posey Starr and Etta Breedlove both of Franklin, Betty Jearline Allen of Bryson City and Barbara Carolyn Grooms of New Smyrna Beach, FL; 12 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 24, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Gary McCoy and Rev. Brandon Breedlove will officiate. Burial will be in the Grave Gap Cemetery, Bryson City, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home. Grandsons will serve as Pallbearers. Great Grandsons will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Grave Gap Cemetery, C/O Hightower Baptist Church.
