Everett William (Bill) Campbell, 91, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at A Cedar Park Personal Care Home, in Cedar Park, Texas after a difficult battle with dementia that robbed his family of the devoted, intelligent and funny man they knew and loved.

He was born May 25th, 1924, in Rimersburg, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Raymond S. and Martha A. Campbell.

On April 14th, 2001, Bill married Bobette Campbell (Morris) in Hockley, Texas and she survives.

After graduation from Slippery Rock High School, Bill enlisted in the United States Navy, and at the age of 19 he had completed flight school and received his wings in Pensacola, Florida. He was shipped to the Pacific theatre as a fighter pilot aboard the escort carrier, the USS Kadashan Bay. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for heroism and extraordinary actions during WWII.

After the war, Bill attended Penn State University where he earned a degree in Chemical Engineering. He worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in the chemical division for 38 years. During that time Bill served as a technical superintendent at a Houston facility, and as a plant manager at: CPS in

Le Havre, France; Calhoun, Georgia; Point Pleasant, West Virginia, and Beaumont, Texas. His final position was as the Director of Production at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Corporation headquarters in Akron, Ohio. He retired in January of 1989.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 50 years, Marilyn Campbell (Boller). Two sisters, Lucille Fox and Rhoda Steading, and a grandson, Christopher Loudon, also preceded him in death.

Bill is survived by his children: Tom Campbell, of Lago Vista, TX, Susan Loudon of Brockport, PA, Edward Campbell of Marietta, GA, and Cindy Albach of Austin, TX. He is also survived by his brother, John Campbell, and sister, Nancy Chenault. as well as 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

A private family memorial service will be held in Pennsylvania at a future date. Burial will follow at the Slippery Rock Cemetery in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania.
