Ken Waylan Griffin was born on November 6, 1943 in New London, Texas and passed away peacefully on December 14, 2015 in Houston, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents Waymon Nafus and Mary Laverne Griffin, his sister Neita Arlene Johnson of Nashville, Tennessee and his brother Drayton Griffin of New London, Texas.



Ken graduated as valedictorian from New London High School in 1964 and then Baylor University in 1966. He served in the United States Army from 1966-1968. Ken and Patricia Kaye Thompson married in January of 1968 with whom he spent the next 47 years. Together they raised three children. Ken is survived by his wife Pat, children, James Griffin and wife Julie, Dionna Hulslander and husband Todd, and Jonathon Griffin and wife Amber. He also leaves his granddaughters Kyndera Keithley, Allyse Griffin, Viktoria Griffin, Jillian Griffin, and Berkeley Hulslander.



A graveside service will be conducted for family and close friends at 11:00am Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Rusk County Memorial Gardens in Henderson, Texas. A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00am Monday, December 21, 2015 at Second Baptist Church in Houston, Texas.
