Bertha, was known to her family as "Bertie". She is the beloved daughter of John C. & Sarah Ellen (Smith-Bolin) Caire'. Her sisters are Luella "Lue", Velma, Jenette Mae "Nettie" & Mittie Caire'. Bertha is the grand daughter to Joseph & Rebecca "Beccie" (Belt) Caire' of Franklin County, Arkansas & John E.& Sarah "Sallie" (Atkinson) Smith Bolin of Newton County, Arkansas. She died at her family home there near Mountain Top, Arkansas when she was at the tender age of only 18 with influenza. She was beloved by her father, mother & all four of her sisters. When Bertie's daddy passed away, that was the end of the Caire' name. Bertie never married and was a kind and affectionate sister, this is what her sisters told me. Her sister, Luella "Lue", is my Grandma (Caire')Jackson.
