Loving husband and father who passed unexpectedly the day after Thanksgiving in a flood.
Benjamin Taylor Floyd, age 29, of Wylie, Texas, passed away November 27, 2015 in Garland, Texas. He was born December 16, 1985 in Baltimore, Maryland and moved to Texas at the age of seven. Ben grew up in the Richardson and Garland area. He was a 2004 graduate of Berkner High School in Richardson. He graduated in 2007 from Richland College in Dallas with an Associate’s Degree in Arts. It was at Richland College where he met his wife, Diana, and they were married on May 22, 2006. Ben was employed with Target for over thirteen years. He attended Northplace Church in Sachse, Texas. Ben was very outgoing and never met a stranger. He would help anyone at any time no matter their need. Ben enjoyed electronics and games; but most of all, loved being with his son, Preston and spending time with family. He will truly be missed but forever remain in our hearts. Ben was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jeff and Jane Floyd.He is survived by his wife of nine years, Diana Floyd; his son, Preston Floyd; mother and step-father, Karen and Johnny McGatlin; father, John Floyd; two sisters, Bethany Floyd and her companion, Eric Brown and Janice Flowers and her husband, Steven; mother in-law and step-father in-law, Bess and Archie Jackson; sister in-law, Alexis Jackson; maternal grandmother, Joan R. True; maternal grandfather, Walter M. Stockett; and numerous other family members and friends.
