Marcella Lillian Meyer, 99, of Pound, WI, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, October 23, 2017. She was born to the late Michael and Catherine (Burg) Casper January 2, 1918.
Marcella married Wilfred Mathias Meyer November 18, 1944. They met at a barn dance and Wilfred wanted Marcella to keep his feet warm for the winter.
Marcella retired from Coleman Products in 1983 with a perfect work record. Up until the past few years she was an active member of St. Anne Parish and St. Leo Parish in Pound. Marcella was known for her "Minnie Pearl" at St. Francis of Assisi Christmas Program.
She loved sewing, singing, gardening, fishing and her casino trips. Marcella was known to plant a flower or tree and later decide to move it – they never died.
Surviving are six children: Judy Kirsch, Mike (Terri) Meyer, Wayne (Carrie) Meyer, Al (Tina) Meyer, Roger (Gail) Meyer, Pat (Lynn) Meyer;
16 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 10 step-great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Marcella is the last of the of the original Meyer and Casper families.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband,
daughter and son-in-law Jane and Leon Lewandowski
and all of her brothers and sisters.
The family will greet relatives and friends Friday, October 27th at St. Anne Catholic Church, Coleman from 9 A.M. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 A.M. with Father Nonito Barra officiating. Inurnment will follow at St. Leo Catholic Cemetery, Pound.
