Amboy, Dec. 31 - Mrs. Sarah C. Rowland of North Amboy died Christmas morning after an extended illness. Her death was caused from cancer for which she recently underwent two operations. Mrs. Rowland was born in the town of Camden January 21, 1842. Shortly after, her parents moved to New Haven where they resided for a short time and then returned to their native town where they lived until the marriage of their daughter to E. D. Rowland of Williamstown, January 1, 1862. The first few years of her married life was spent in the town of Williamstown. From there the family moved to North Amboy, where she spent the remainder of her life. She was a steadfast member of the First Baptist church of Camden, located in Hillsboro. She was a ready worker in the church, and she will be greatly missed in church and social life. Her willingness as a Christian won for her a large circle of friends who extend their heartfelt sympathy for the bereaved family.

Besides her husband, she leaves ten children to mourn her death: The children are: Mrs. Belle Fravor of Mexico; Robert Rowland of, Albany; E. D. Rowland of Mexico; Arcelowe Rowland of Wellwood; Mrs. Estelle Taylor of Utica, Mrs. Emma Blenis of Ithaca; Mrs. Cleora Satterlee of New York City; Miss Gertrude Rowland of Utica; Miss Bennie Rowland of Williamstown; Lewis Rowland of Camden. Beside her family she leaves two brothers Edmond Magee of Camden, and Cornelius Magee of Florence.

Her funeral was held Sunday at Williamstown from the M. E. church, her pastor Rev. Jabez Ford officiating. Interment was made in Williamstown.
