Norwood, Thomas Leroy, 84, psychologist for the state of Oklahoma Juvenile Services, died Dec. 12. Services 11 a.m. Wednesday, Wildwood Community Church (John M. Ireland, Moore).

Thomas LeRoy "Tommy" Norwood, 84, of Norman, OK passed away December 12, 2015. He was born May 7, 1931 to William and Agnes Norwood in Cordova, Tennessee. He was the 9th of 10 kids all born at home, on a dairy farm. Tommy enjoyed playing baseball when he was younger, and even got a chance to play for the Chicago White Sox. He later joined the ministry and preached for several years. Tommy began to work for the State of Oklahoma in 1969 as a phycologist for juvenile services. After retirement he delivered flowers for Betty Lou's Florist in Norman. Tommy also enjoyed fishing and going to garage sales, often! Most of all Tommy enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Jane Norwood; daughter, Patricia Harris and husband, Bill; 2 sons, Stephen Norwood and wife, Debbie, Michael Norwood and wife, Alicia; 2 step-daughters, Diana Cornett and husband, Craig, Tami Gardner and husband, Bobby; step-son, Mickey Buller; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, including Pastor Dan Norwood; sisters, Mildred Weeks and Dorothy Spence. He is preceded in death by his parents, William Elbert and Agnes Hamilton Hill Norwood; 3 brothers and 4 sisters. Visitation will be held 9 AM-7 PM, Tuesday, December 15, 2015 with a private family visitation being held 8-9 Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel, Moore, OK. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, December 16, 2015 at Wildwood Community Church, Norman, OK. Interment to follow at Moore Cemetery, Moore, OK. In lieu flowers of family request memorial donations be sent to the Mission Program at the Wildwood Community Church, Norman, OK. Services are under the direction of John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel, Moore, OK.
