Irene was a graduate of Schenectady High School where she received honors in spelling. She worked as a stenographer at the American Locomotive Company, and later as a secretary in the Large Steam and Turbine Division at the General Electric Company. She was an avid gardener, and was especially fond of her pet cats. At the age of 55, and enjoyed travel. She was the widow of Otto J. Wolte of Schenectady. She is survived by two daughters; two sisters, Patricia Marr and Teresa Hickey; her late brother, Hank Kiszkiel; seven grandchildren, six greatgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
