They lived in Des Moines, Malcom, Sioux City, Iowa, and then Denver, Colorado; and next in Omaha and Omaha, Nebraska; next in Glendale on the edge of Council Bluffs, and finally in their retirement home in Council Bluffs.
In her youth she played the coronet and the piano. She was the pianist in a couple of the churches her husband served as pastor, in Woodland and Malcom, Iowa. She served on committees and circles in all of the churches Loren served, and was president of Presbyterian Women in the Presbytery of Missouri River Valley in the 1970’s. She was sent to India by Presbyterian Women, and spent a year lecturing in area churches about the crisis they were facing in India at that time. She went back to college after her last child was graduated from high school; she was graduated as a licensed practical nurse. She worked for a number of years at Villa de Sante Nursing home in Omaha, NE and Bethany Nursing home in Council Bluffs.
She and Loren were frequent visitors at the senior center in Council Bluffs. Eva Parker is survived by son, Steve Parker and his wife Rachel, and their son David of Grants Pass, Oregon; her daughter, Eileen Pollitt and husband Ken, their daughter Elyse, and son Andy of Westbury, New York; her daughter, Lori Wasko and husband Paul, and their daughters, Katie and Emma of Anchorage, Alaska; her son, Stanley Parker and his sons, Joshua, Jacob and Jordan of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and her sister-in-law, Pat VanderHey of Cyprus, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Loren; her parents, Grove and Esther Foster; and son, Alan Parker and his former wife Linda. Alan and Linda have two surviving daughters, Emily Parker Motycka of Omaha, Nebraska, and Sarah Reid of Des Moines, Iowa. Eva also has four great grandchildren, Wally, Geena, and Teddy Reid, and Joey Motycka.
