Teresa Elaine “Terry” Hoover, 60, Altoona, passed away Tuesday at UPMC Altoona after an extended illness.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of Mary Patricia “Pat” (Runk) Williams and the late Robert De Remer Williams. She was twice married: first to Dennis G. McGraw and then to Marion E. “Bud” Hoover Jr.
Surviving are a son, Thomas M. McGraw of Homer City; her mother of Altoona; six grandchildren: Rachel, Riley, Jeremy, Sullivan, Layla and Teagan; and six siblings: Robert D. Williams (Sally) of Hollidaysburg, Susan A. Gorman of Altoona, Thomas R. Williams (Robin) of Altoona, Mary P. Zimmerman (William) of Altoona, Joyce Smyser (Matthew) of Altoona and Joan L. Soldner (Steven) of Butler.
She was preceded in death by her second husband, Bud, who died on October 22, 2005; and a brother-in-law, James Gorman.
Terry was a 1973 graduate of Altoona High School and attended the Altoona Vocational-Technical School. She had been employed by the New Pig Corp. and the Greater Altoona Career and Technology Center. She retired as a medical secretary from Valley View Nursing Home, Altoona.
Terry was an avid pool player in the Altoona Women’s League. She enjoyed horses and spending time with her grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, November 27, 2015, at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona, PA 16602. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 28, 2015, in Stevens Memorial Chapel.
