Roger Leo Bentley was born November 14, 1940 near Antlers, Oklahoma to Rodger W. and Dixie (Corbin) Bentley. Shortly afterward he family moved to the Albion area. After graduating from Albion High School, Roger joined the U. S. Navy. He was an Aviation Support Equipment Technician. In 1961 he married Emily Aline Stevens; they had five children over the years and he retired from the Navy as a Chief Petty Officer. His service benefited the military through his dedication, knowledge and suggestions that resulted in greater safety for his follow sailors. After retirement Roger worked as a truck driver and mechanic with his own shop. Even after he quit driving a truck he racked up many a mile chasing parts. Roger was a gifted man who was sought out by many to "pick his brain". His knowledge and know-how will be greatly missed. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Rodger William Bentley and Dix Pearl Corbin Bentley, his wife Emily Aline Bentley, and two sisters: Willie Wanda Stevens and Betty Lou Nunley. Graveside services will be held Monday, November 14, 2015, 2 p.m. at the Albion Cemetery. Interment will follow under the direction of Burkhart Funeral Service of Talihina.
