Ola Mae Johnson, 69, of Hays died Thursday, Dec. 10, 2015, at her home. She was born April 11, 1946, in Wilkes County to Thurmond and Rose Anna Cockerham Bowlin.
Mrs. Johnson was a member of Mountain Valley Baptist Church. She was formerly employed with Aramark Food Service, and also in the cafeteria at Lowe’s Companies and Tyson Foods, where she made many friends. She was a giving and caring person.
Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her father; her husband, Noah Johnson; a grandson, Noah Johnson; and a granddaughter, Jessica Johnson.
Surviving are her mother, Rose Anna Cockerham Bowlin of Millers Creek; a daughter, Tina Johnson of Hays; a son, Scott Johnson of Hays; a brother, Albert Bowlin of Wilkesboro; a sister, Lorena Sebastian of Millers Creek; her granddaughter, Ashley Rhodes of Hays; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015, at Miller Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Willie Kanupp officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain Valley Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Miller Funeral Service from 10 until 11 a.m. Saturday, prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pruitt Health Hospice, 902 West D Street, Suite B, North Wilkesboro, N.C. 28659.
