Mrs. Waters was born February 20, 1923 in Louisville, KY the daughter of William and Martha Marie Schwartz Young. She formerly worked in the Charlestown High School Cafeteria, was an aid at the old Longworth Villa Care Center in Charlestown and worked in central supply at the Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville.
Survivors include her daughters, Alice M. Moseley(Wynn) of Louisville, Bettie J. Brown of Louisville, Judith A. Blair(Kenneth) of Shepherdsville, KY, Margaret J. Coomer of Jeffersontown, KY, Nancy R. Smothers of Shelbyville, KY and Martha S. Welch of Sellersburg, IN; sons, Dennis R. Black of Otisco, IN and William E. Black of Charlestown; brothers, James Young of Louisville and John Young of Roachdale, IN; sister, Margaret Hargrove of Louisville; twenty-three grandchildren, sixty-three great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Thomas A. Black, SR and Norvin Waters; son, Thomas A. Black JR ; daughter, Sharon Franklin; grandchildren, Ronald and Crystal Franklin.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, December 14, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Chenoweth Run Cemetery in Jeffersontown, KY. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1:00 to 6:00 P.M. and after 9:00 A.M. Monday.
