Mary Helen Payton Lea, 92, of Shelbyville, died onSaturday, the 12th of December , 2015, at Crestview Center in Shelbyville.
Born at Baily's Mill in Franklin County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Eddie Lee and Stella Mae Baily Payton, and the widow of Carlyle Johnson Lea.
A member of the First Bapist Church Of Shelbyville,her memberships also included the Beta Sigma Phi sorority .
The owner and operator of Helen's Beauity Shop in Shelbyville, she was a beautician for over sixty-eight years.
She was also an antiques dealer, and buying, selling, and collecting antiques was not only a business , but her favorite hobby as well.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Virgil Payton, and sisters Lucille Chenault and Phyliss Warren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, the 16th day of December, 2015, at the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Shelbyville, with Brother Nathan Davenport officating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Frankfort, Kentucky.
Visition will be from 4:00 P.M., until 8:00 P.M..,










Note: Mrs Lea parents. Eddie Lee Payton, born April 26, 1886 Harpers Ferry, Henry County Ky. He was the son of John Thomas Payton and Luticia Penn.
Mother, Stella Mae Bailey, born August6 1896, Kentucky, died
April 17,1969 in Jefferson County Ky. She was the daughter of Alonzo Bailey and Mary Ella Bailey, born December 9, 1862, in Bath County Ky. She was the daughter of David and Melissa Bailey, Stella Mae Bailey Payton was the only child born during their marriage. Mary Ella Bailey married Alonzo Bailey in 1883. Mary Ella Bailey died October 16, 1955 in Lee's Summit, Missouri, at the age of 92
