Vigil service for George R. Fischer, 72, will be at 7 p.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Mass is planned for 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Charles Catholic Church with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Mr. Fischer, a 48-year Spokane resident, died Sunday. He was bom in Minneapolis.
He had owned and operated Fischer Chevron at 43rd and Scott for 27 years. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.
He was a member of St. Charles Parish, president of the Spokane Rifle Club, and a member of the Knights of Columbus of St. Charles Parish.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Fischer of Spokane; and one sister, Jeanette Sholaas of San Mateo, Calif.
