Kenneth Calvin Ballard, 86, of East Ridge, TN, died on Thursday, November 12, 2015.

He was a member of Newnan Springs United Methodist Church. Mr. Ballard was retired from U.S. Pipe and Foundry as personnel director after 37 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Ballard was an avid gardener and loved to make jelly.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Mae Ballard and a brother, Mark D. Ballard.

Survivors include four daughters, Melissa L. Ballard Grant, of Ooltewah, TN, Karen E. Ballard Ford, of Hixson, TN, Susan C. Ballard Crabtree, of Chattanooga, TN, and Barbara Jean Ballard Snodgrass, of Huntsville, AL; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Wayne B. Ballard; sister, Kathryn Ballard Gilley; several nieces and nephews; and faithful companion, his dog, Daisy.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Reverend Ash McEuen officiating.

The family will receive friends from 12–2 p.m. on Sunday at the Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery at 9:30 a.m. on Monday.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga or to the Wounded Warriors Project.
