He was listed as KIA i WW II in the battle of Saipan and was buried there originally. Later on, under a U.S. Gov't plan, his remains were removed and brought back in May of 1948. His funeral was on June 20, 1948. He was a resident of Washington, D.C. His mother was Hennie Becker and he had a sister Valerie. He had been a printer for the Washington Post for 8 years
