NORTH LIMA – Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Fox Funeral Home in Boardman for Martha S. McCarty, 89, who passed away Sunday morning.
Martha was born Feb. 26, 1921, in Warren, a daughter of John and Frances Whiston Stanton.
She was a 1939 graduate of The Rayen School and worked as a bookkeeper for Strouss department store and in the personnel department at Sears. Martha also volunteered at Beeghly Oaks.
Her husband, John L. McCarty, whom she married Aug. 25, 1947, died Nov. 26, 1994.
She leaves to cherish her memory, three sons, Timothy (Diane) McCarty of Boardman, Gregory (Lora) McCarty of Maumee and Chris (Maureen) McCarty of Boardman; a brother, Robert Stanton of Struthers; a brother-in-law, Charles Heckman; a sister-in-law, Betty Stanton; four grandchildren, John (Gabriella) McCarty of Lakewood, Nance (Larry) Heckman of Delaware, Ohio, Gregory McCarty of Woodbridge, Va. and Lucy McCarty of Boardman; and one great-granddaughter, Sophia Heckman.
