William Paul Schock
May 3, 1938 - Oct. 7, 1998

Bill fought valiantly with lung cancer until God called him home at the age of 60.

He was born a son of William Hans and Isabell Hattie Nelson Schock in Bismark, North Dakota. Member of the LDS Church. Served in the Air Force and married Enriqueta Osuna Cortez April 8, 1965 in Elko, Nevada. Bill was a small engine mechanic by trade and worked at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hotel Utah, Salt Lake City Cemetery, Boyd Martin, Toro, and again most recently at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. He was loved by many and had a great passion for the Mexican culture and community. Active in the Mexican Civic Center always lending a helping hand. Loved traveling to Mexico to visit with family members and many friends. He was an avid collector of classic automobiles and was a loving and devoted husband to Enriqueta for 34 years. He was a constant companion to her and always made sure she was taken care of. Bill will be greatly missed by all who have known him.

Survived by his wife, Enriqueta; son, Alfonso (Leanora) Cortez; grandsons, Robert (Angie) Cortez, Jesus Cortez, Lori Ann (Ronnie) Cortez, Anthony (Roberta) Cortez, Daniel (Dawn) Ramsey; six great-grandchildren; nine nieces and nephews; sisters, Betty (Dick) Terrell, Portland Oregon; Joan (Joe) Quinlan, Forsyth, Montana; sister-in-law, Rosario De Castenedo, Mexico; brother, Richard (Jean) Schock, Calamesa, California. Preceded in death by mother; great granddaughter, Katarina Cortez.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, 10 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where friends may call Friday, 5-8 p.m. and Saturday, one hour prior to services. Interment, Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
