Billy Kirkland, 68, died Friday (December 11, 2015) at his residence following a short illness.

He was a native of Waycross and lived most of his life in Waycross. He was retired from Rayonier and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Kettle Creek Southern Congregational Methodist Church and served on the Board of Stewards and the Cemetery Board. He was a past Master of the Waycross Masonic Lodge #305, a past President of the Waycross Shrine Club, and a past President of St. Illa Rose Society.

Mr. Billy was the son of the late Harold M. Kirkland and the late Natalie Mullis Kirkland. He is also preceded in death by his children's mother, Terry Mixon Kirkland.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie U. Kirkland of Waycross, GA; two sons, Wayne Kirkland of Roswell, GA and Bill Kirkland (wife Rebecca) of Waycross, GA; a daughter, Pamela Pridgen of Cumming, GA; a step daughter, Sandy Harrell (husband Mike) of Waycross, GA; a step son, Will Hinson of Dublin, GA; six grandchildren, Brooklyn Daniel (husband Chase), Rachel Kirkland, Sommer Pridgen, Samantha Kirkland, Reid Kirkland, and Teriayn Kirkland; four step grandchildren, Shayna Mosley (husband Dustin), Rhae Soper (husband Forest), Michael Harrell, and Mason Harrell; two great grandchildren, Braelyn Daniel and Nora Daniel; two step great grandchildren, Jase Mosley and Rylan Mosley; a brother, John Shaw (wife Sherry) of Waycross; sisters in law, Sandra Casper (husband Mike) of Flowery Branch, GA, Patty Carter (husband Ronnie) of Blackshear, GA; a brother in law, Glenn Ursrey (wife Sandy) of Waycross; and this paper is not big enough to list all his special friends.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday (December 14, 2015) at Kettle Creek Southern Congregational Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Sunday (December 13, 2015) at Music Funeral Home. Burial will be in Kettle Creek Cemetery.
