Nancy Sue Hogg passed from this earthly realm to her eternal home on Tuesday, December 8, 2015. Nancy was born in Mayking, Kentucky on March 6, 1931. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles & Lina Kincer Hogg, four brothers; Astor, Morris, Ray & Ed; three sisters; Anne, Betty & Polly. She is survived by her daughter, Lina Welch Brewer (Mark), Nicholasville; son, John Astor Welch (Pam), Lexington, two grandsons, Aaron Caudill (Sarah), Jeremy Brewer (Barbara); two granddaughters, Christina Parker, Lisa Smith (Allen) all of Lexington; four great-granddaughters; Melanie, Courtney, Avery and Raegan.
She enjoyed a long career as a teacher in the Letcher County, Kentucky Public School System, which culminated with her duties as a speech therapist, requiring her to drive a Winnebago to the various schools in the county. Upon her retirement she resided in Central Kentucky until the time of her passing. Nancy was a founding member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority in Letcher Co. and a member of Anchor Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Hogg-Welch Cemetery, Mayking,, Kentucky.
