Phanelle "Faye" Barrow Jones, age 88, of Bristol, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2015, at her residence. She was born June 29, 1927, in Lake City, South Carolina, a daughter of the late John DuPree and Ella Wilma Collins Barrow. Faye graduated Nursing School in Florence, South Carolina where she became a Registered Nurse. She taught nursing for 22 years with the Adult Education Program at the Slater Center, and she was a member of First Baptist Church in Bristol Virginia. Faye was a long time member of the Gideons International Auxiliary. Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, James Elmer Jones. She is survived by daughter, Nancy Pruitt and husband, Ron; son, Jim Jones and wife, Pat; grandchildren, Jack Jones, Jake Jones, Lee Ann Skinner, and Amy Rumley; great grandchildren, Adam Skinner, and Garrett Skinner; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, December 14, 2015, in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ronnie Brewer officiating. The committal will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Gideons International, 609 E Elk Ave, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
