ECKHART- Jessie Estella Porter, 90, of Eckhart passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at the Frostburg Village Nursing Home.
Born April 13, 1925 she was the daughter of the late Jess Myers and Nettie (Starky) Myers. She is preceded in death by her husband Oliver Bruce Porter in 1986, and a sister Marian Wintermyer. Jessie was a member of the Eckhart United Methodist Church.
She was a graduate of Beall High School Class of 1943, and the Memorial Hospital School of Nursing Class of 1946.
Jessie worked as a Registered Nurse at the Kelly Springfield Tire Company and Sacred Heart Hospital in the Emergency Room.
Jessie is survived by her son, Tom Porter and wife Lisa of Kill Devil Hills, NC; grandchildren, Lauren Dayton and friend, David Schultz of Keyser; and Olivia Porter and friend, Bill McDaniel of Keyser.
Also surviving are great-grandchildren Charlie Porter-McCauley, Lillian McDaniel, and Cody McDaniel.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. George M. Harpold officiating.
Interment will be in Eckhart Cemetery.
