Jerry was born December 19, 1947 in Gettysburg, SD to Floyd and Myrtle (McCamley) Potts. He grew up in Gettysburg and graduated from Gettysburg High School.
He was united in marriage to Nancy Lemler on July 14, 1972 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gettysburg.
Jerry worked construction for 30 years. He built and remodeled numerous buildings and homes in Pierre.
After his career in construction he stayed with the business in a different way by going to work at Probuild, where he worked up to the day he became ill.
Jerry was a very helpful and generous man with a great sense of humor; he also was a great father and a very hard worker. He enjoyed his garden and yard work.
He was preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Myrtle; brother Kenneth and infant son Jeffrey.
