Mr. DANIEL JEROME MICHAEL, a well-known and highly respected citizen, died at his home on West South street, at 7.25 o'clock last evening, of Bright's disease, in the 68th year of his age. Mr. Michael was born on the farm owned by his grandfather, the late Andrew Michael, on the east side of the Monocacy river, near Urbana, on October 14, 1840. At the age of six years his parents moved to a farm in Buckeytown district, where he attended the public schools and acquired an education.

After his marriage, in 1866, to Miss Eugenia Michael, a daughter of the late Ezra Michael, he engaged in farming, which vocation he followed for 17 years, when he removed to Frederick. On January 1, 1893, he assumed charge of Mt. Olivet cemetery as its superintendent, which position he held until October 1 last, when he was obliged to resign because of ill health.

He was a congenial gentleman and highly respected by all who knew him.

He is survived by a widow and four sons and two daughters: Messrs. Edward L., Jesse H., and Theodore J. Michael, of this city, and Benjamin Michael, of Brunswick, and Mrs. Charles Riddlemoser and Mrs. Charles Seeger, of this city; three brothers and five sisters: Mr. John L. Michael, of this city; Messrs, Frederick A. Michael and Samuel C. Michael, of near this city; Mrs. Sarah Ramsburg, of Missouri; Mrs. Eliza Crist, Harrisburg, Pa.; Mrs. Elizabeth Specht and Miss Minerva Michael, of near this city; and Mrs. Laura Devilbiss, of this city.

The funeral will take place on Friday morning at 10.30 o'clock. Services will be held at his late home on West South Street and interment will be made in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
