Died at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at his residence in French Settlement. He was 39 and a native of French Settlement. Body at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs after 1 p.m. Monday until 2 p.m. Tuesday. Religious services at French Settlement Baptist Church at 3 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Harold Dodd and Rev. J. H. Wright officiating. Burial in church cemetery. Survived by wife, Mrs. Margie Murphy; two sons, Kelvin Jr. and William Joseph Murphy, both of French Settlement; two daughters, Christine and Wanda Sue Murphy, both of French Settlement; five brothers, Eddie, Melton, Jessie, Sidney and Stanley Murphy, all of French Settlement; three sisters, Mrs. Marion Eckles and Mrs. Pearly Sullivan, both of Denham Springs, and Mrs. Malcolm Matherne of French Settlement; father, Eleza Murphy of French Settlement; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was a member of the French Settlement Baptist Church.
