MORRIS, Mattie P. of Tampa, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Dec. 12, at 11 am, at St. Mark Baptist Church, 7221 S. Sherrill Street with Elder Corregio Reaves, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be held Monday, Dec. 14, 11:30 am, in the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. Mrs. Morris was a native of Waverly, Georgia and a resident of Tampa for 34 years. She was a graduate of JRE Lee High School, Jasper, and was a member of St. Mark M. B. Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruben Gibbs and Queen Whitford; her husband of 49 years, Costell Morris; her brother, Claude Gibbs and sister, Dollene Williams. Survived by one son, Terry L. Morris; two daughters, Mrs. Jacqueline D. Grant (Charles) and Mrs. V. Faye Harris (Eric); six grandchildren, Brian H. Harris, Erica F. Harris, Charles E. Grant III "CJ", Brittney D. Harris, Nicholas C. Grant and Briana N. Grant; two sisters, Mrs. Francis Hutchinson, Jacksonville, and Mrs. Patricia Walters (Leonard) of Tampa; one brother-in-law, John H. Morris (Gwen) of Ft. Pierce; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. The remains will repose after 5 pm, Friday, Dec. 11, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue.
