Gerald F. Rottier, 80, longtime Green Bay area resident, died peacefully Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at a local nursing home. He was born February 27, 1935, in West De Pere to Chris and Marie (Heezen) Rottier. Gerald graduated from St. Norbert High School with the Class of 1954. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959 in Germany. He later served in the U.S. Army Reserves. On September 7, 1959, Gerald married Janice Henry at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Gerald was employed as a Pasteurizer at Lov-It Creamery for 38 years. He retired in March of 1997. Gerald was a long time member of St. Agnes Parish and served as an usher. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards and walking.Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Janice; their six children and their spouses, Stephen and Beth Rottier, Edward and Sandy Rottier, Barbara and James Blahnik, Patrick and Rose Rottier, Anne and Jeff Smith, Peter Rottier and his wife, Linda Pollack; 12 grandchildren and their spouses, Michael Rottier, Sarah and Matt Giuliani, Cole Rottier, Kendra Rottier, Katie Blahnik, Matt Blahnik, Chris and Erin Rottier, Samantha Rottier, Amanda Zucker, Andrew Zucker, Nurzhan Pollack Rottier, Adelzhan Pollack Rottier; a great-grandson, Gus Giuliani; brothers and sisters and their spouses, Dick and Mary Rottier, Ray and Janice Rottier, Roland "Peck" and Joyce Rottier, Harvey and Alice Rottier, Bob Rottier, Cathy Rottier, Jean Rottier; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gerry Rottier, Dale Van Erem, James Smith; many other relatives and friends.Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Bernard Rottier, Jim Rottier; two sisters, Rita Van Erem, Pat Goffard; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Robert and Henrietta Henry; three sisters-in-law, Jean Rottier, Marilyn Smith, Carole Tilkens; a brother-in-law, Bob Goffard. Friends may call at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1484 Ninth Street, from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, December 12, 2015. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Entombment will be in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
