Catherine Ann Kurtyak was born on April 27, 1923 in Mason City, Iowa to Archie and Mary McKaig. As a young woman she moved to San Francisco, California.
Kay met her husband Robert Kurtyak through his cousin Phyllis. They were married in 1949 in San Francisco. Kay has resided in Chico, California since 2012 and enjoyed her time at Windchime of Chico.
She was a mother of four children; Robert Kurtyak Jr. of Sandy,Utah, Dona Watters of Chico, CA, Timothy Kurtyak of Dixon, CA, and Kathy Taylor of Seal Beach, CA, seven grandchildren; Lindsay, Andrew, Daniel, Michele, Chloe, Catherine and Emma.
There will be a private family graveside at a later time. Kay will be missed by all her friends and family.
