Mary (May) E. Oliver, 77, wife of the late Richard Charles Oliver who died in August, 1952, passed away at 3:30 a.m. today at the Pleasant Street Rest Home.
She was a native of England, born March 2, 1881. Before moving into the rest home she resided on Chapel street for many years.
There are no known survivors. Funeral services are pending at the Hooper-Weaver Mortuary.
Mrs. Oliver had impaired vision for some time. She was a gentle woman, a good neighbor and in her more active years took considerable pride in the flower garden of her home.

Funeral services for Mary (May) E. Oliver, 77, resident of Grass Valley since 1921, will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Hooper-Weaver Mortuary with the Rev. R. A. Miner officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Although blind the latter part of her life, she was always cheerful and possessed many friends. She was a member of the Friendship Circle, Neighbors of Woodcraft and enjoyed a full life in spite of her handicap.
Bereaved are two sisters, Mrs. Lillie Richards, New Jersey; Mrs. Mabel Eslick, England; several nieces and nephews in England and a nephew residing in Long Beach.
"Thomas Henry Ashbourne born in 1872 was Mary Emma Ashbourne's Brother.
Her Father was Thomas Ashbourne.
Matilda Ashbourne born in 1918 and James Ashbourne born in 1915 were her Niece and Nephew".
