Linda Carole Vickers of Owensboro, KY died in the home of her sister, Janet Metzger, in Franklin, KY on Thanksgiving, 2015 at 8 a.m. She was the daughter of the late William Thomas Vickers, Jr. and the late Winnie (Westerfield) Vickers. She is survived by her sister Janet Metzger (Bill) of Franklin, KY, a brother Larry Vickers (Lorena) of Henderson, NV, 2 nephews Benjamin Metzger of Denver, CO, Luke Metzger of Bowling Green, KY, a niece Julianne Copeland (Jady) of New York, NY and a great niece Rosie Jane Copeland. Ms. Vickers was an alumni of Western KY University where she earned her Masters Degree in Education. She loved teaching and she loved people, especially children. She also worked for many years as an office manager for Grandy and Associates in Owensboro, KY. She was a faithful member of the Eastside church of Christ in Bowling Green, KY. A memorial service is planned on Saturday, December 5 at 10 a.m. at Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home in Franklin, KY. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you seek out someone who is lonely, hurting or in need and do something to serve them.
