Dolores Lorraine Hamilton, 85, of Traverse City, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2015, at Munson Hospice House in Traverse City. She was born February 1, 1930, in Chicago, the daughter of Kenneth and Viola Ake.
Dolores was an avid reader and especially enjoyed mystery and thriller novels and an occasional romance story. She also enjoyed traveling, going shopping, crocheting and making ceramics. Most of all, she loved being with her family.
Dolores is survived by: 5 children, Harry (Darlene) Hamilton of Copemish, Gayle (Merlin) Hamilton Marlatt of Charlotte, Julie (Brian) Hamilton Yeomans of Mesick, Mark (Robbin) Hamilton of Mesick, and Brett (Kim) Hamilton of Kaleva; 18 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Dolores was preceded in death by: her husband, Harry D. Hamilton; 2 sons, Kelly Hamilton and Bradley Hamilton; her daughter, Shelly Hamilton; her grandson, Jimmy Hamilton; her brother, Mike Ake; and her sister, Barbara Ake Cromwell.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at the Terwilliger Funeral Home in Kaleva. Interment will follow in the Pleasanton Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 1:00 PM until time of services at the funeral home.
