Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, Jessica Corene Dutson Richey passed away peacefully on December 3, 2015 at St. George, Utah at the age of 85.

Jessica was born on November 26, 1930 in Salt Lake City to George Merlin and Hilda Williams Dutson. She was the oldest daughter and 2nd child of 11. Jessica spent most of her childhood in Lehi, Utah where she graduated from Lehi High.

Jessica loved music. At the age of 12 she began taking violin lessons which she paid for herself with her babysitting money and played in the orchestra in Jr High & High School. She also played the piano and organ and had a beautiful altos voice.

When she was 16 years old and a Senior in H.S., she met Reid Thueson Richey who was attending BYU-Provo. On February 19, 1947 they were married in the Idaho Falls Temple for time & all eternity. Reid & Jessica were called as the last young couple by the Church to serve a mission in the East Atlantic/Southern States mission. Reid left shortly after their wedding and Jessica joined him the last 6 months.

They spent most of their married life on their farm in Ashton where Jessica loved, cared for and taught her 15 children to love Heavenly Father, our Savior and our fellowmen.

Jessica was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in the Primary, Relief Society and YW presidencies and as a faithful visiting teacher. After their children were grown they served 3 more missions: West Yellowstone/Island Park, the Phillipines and Tucson, Arizona. Jessica was a perfect example of a faithful Christian who showed great love and compassion for others.

Jessica is survived by her husband of 68 years, Reid of Idaho Falls, 14 living children: Corene (Gale) Peterson of Idaho Falls; Kendell (Jeannie) Richey of Rock Springs, Wyoming; Annette Lyman of Idaho Falls; Bryon (Ann) Richey of Nampa; Ramona (Duane) Lundholm of Hamer; Ronald (Mazy) Richey of North Potomac, Maryland; Jeffrey (Debra) Richey of Woodenville, Washington; Brent (Judy) Richey of Salt Lake City; Ileen (John) Arellin of Maitland, Missiouri; Paul (Gaylene) Richey of Rexburg; Alan (Tamara) Richey of Port Hadllock, Washington; Julie Anne (Albert) Rodriguez of Springville, Utah; Samuel (Heather) Richey of Herriman, Utah and Bruce (Rebecca) Richey of Yorktown, Virginia, 73 grandchildren and many great grandchildren, 3 sisters and 4 brothers. Jessica is preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and her daughter Emilie (Bruce) Johnson of Auburn, Washington.

Services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, December 12 at the Kearney 1st Ward , 1860 Kearney Street in Idaho Falls. The family will receive friends Saturday from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Burial will be in the Pineview Cemetery under the direction of Baxter Funeral Home.

Jessica left a great legacy of service, love of music and reading, of family and the gospel of Jesus Christ. As a family, we want to thank our sister, Annette, for her loving care of our precious Mother these last 5 1/2 years. We also want to thank her neighbors and friends of the Kearney 1st Ward. We love you Mother and we will see you soon!
