ROBERT E. SCHREEL, 97, of New Carlisle, OH and formerly of Lewisburg, OH, died Tuesday, December 08, 2015 in Dayton, OH. Born on July 29, 1918 in Lewisburg, OH, he was the son of the late Charles T. & Nelle (Lightcap) Schreel. Bob was self-employed with CT Schreel & Sons in Lewisburg for over 50 years. He was a 1937 Lewisburg Union High School graduate, a WW II U.S. Army Veteran and Purple Heart recipient. He served as a volunteer fireman for the Lewisburg Fire Department, Life Member of the DAV and American Legion in Lewisburg and a member of the Lewisburg United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by his Wife: Jane E. (Focht) Schreel in 1987; Sister: Mildred Henne; Brother: Thurman Schreel.
Survived by his Daughter and Son-in-law: Linda (Gary) Smith, New Carlisle, OH; Nieces and Nephews. Special Friends: Bob Traylor, Lewisburg, OH and Peggy Perrine, Brookville, OH.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Barnes Funeral Home, 411 North Commerce St., Lewisburg, OH with Rev. David O. Justis officiating. Interment will be held in Roselawn Cemetery in Lewisburg with full military honors by the Preble County Honor Guard. Family will receive friends on Saturday, 10:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. at the funeral home.
