Mr Perry Drewry, an old and respected citizen of Harris, Humboldt County, died in Ukiah last Thursday, at the age of 60 years, while on his way to San Francisco for medical treatment. He was buried from the Christian Church Friday, Elder J T Sharrard preaching the sermon. He leaves a wife and eight children to mourn his loss. His wife and baby and brother were with him at the time of his death. The cause of his demise was cancer of the stomach.
History of Napa and Lake Counties note that Richard and Perry Drewry settled in the lower end of the valley (Long Valley) in 1855. The 1860 census shows Perry and Richard in Spring Valley, Colusa Co. (now Lake) along with Jacob Shaw of Kentucky.
