NEWARK: A graveside service celebrating the life of Daris Lee "Mac" McClung, age 80, of Newark, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 10, at Highland Cemetery, Glenford.

Military honors will be observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.

Mac was born October 19, 1935 in Mt. Nebo, West Virginia to the late Leonard and Maude (Crane) McClung. He passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at the home of his daughter, Cheryl.

Mac was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas after 42 years of service. He enjoyed building and remodeling houses and working on cars. He loved the pursuit of knowledge, history and learning new things and liked to watch the Discovery and History channels.

He is survived by four children,seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, he was preceded in death by a son, Dale McClung; brother, Roger McClung; sister, Ruth Persinger; son-in-law, John Farley; and daughter-in-law, Mary McClung.
