Jean Lee Lamb of Mexico, Mo. was born on March 13, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan. She passed away on December 6, 2015 at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.

A former teacher for 30 years with the Bendle School District of Flint, Michigan, Mrs. Lamb received a B.A. degree in Elementary Education from the University of Michigan and Master’s Degrees from Oakland and Eastern Michigan Universities. She was an active member and supporter of many organizations including the DAR, the Audrain County Genealogical Society, Wednesday Club, the Chautaqua Scientific and Literary Circle, Retired Teachers and PEO, among others. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Lamb and her late husband Frederick “Fritz” Lamb were avid travelers.

Surviving are her son, Kurt (Patricia) Lamb of West Plains; a daughter, Karla (Curtis) Devan of Kirksville; grandchildren, Heather (Chris) Lloyd of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jason (Vanessa) Lamb of Mexico, Rebecca (Aaron)Starr of Ankeny, Iowa , and Rachael Devan of Ankeny; and four great-grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am on Sat., Jan. 9th, at the First Presbyterian Church in Mexico. The family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall following the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the DAR, Kings Daughters Home or the Presser Hall Restoration are requested. All may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson, Mexico, MO 65265.

Interment will be at the Casstown Cemetery in Ohio on March 13, 2016.
