Peggy May Woods was born in Lancaster, PA. She was raised by stepfather Sterling Shupe and Mother Mildred along with sisters Mildred and Marjorie. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. 

Peggy lived a very full life, traveling from East to West and back and forth to Alaska and California. Her true love was Alaska. Everywhere she went she had a garden. Loved to can her vegetables and bake homemade bread while raising five children and also worked in canneries, motels, and restaurants. Also field work. She was proud to get her GED in Alaska. 

Peggy entered the Turlock Country Fair in the 70’s and won 1st Prize for her quilting and knitting Afghans. She also entered the Alaskan Palmer State Fair and won 1st Prize in quilting, Afghans and pillow cases. 

Peggy was married to Chester Woods for over 60 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Chester, daughter Charlotte, and sister Marjorie. She is survived by her two sons Michael and daughter-in-law Lu, Walter and daughter-in-law Tracy, and sister Mildred, 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Her church family and Pastor meant the world to her as she attended the First United Methodist Church in Turlock. 

She will be buried at Lakewood Memorial Park, Hughson, CA at a graveside service on December 4th, 2015 at 10:30 am. All friends are welcome.
