Nita Jean Jackson was born in Pasadena, Texas on October 10, 1962. Her parents were Billie Earl and LeNere (Davis) Welborn. She attended college and completed her education at the Houston Police Academy. She was an officer with the Houston Police Department for nineteen years and served in Mexia, Texas for a year. She retired as a detective with the Washington D.C. Police Department. Nita Jean was preceded in death by her father and by a daughter. She passed away on November 28, 2015 in Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.
Surviving family includes her husband, David Jackson, of Martinsburg, West Virginia; mother, LeNere Welborn of Buffalo, Texas; daughters, Krystal Maulfair of Houston and Karol Ward (Robbie) of Martinsburg, West Virginia; brother, Robert Welborn (Kathy) of Willis, Texas; sisters, Gwendolyn Arnold and Deborah Gale Hernandez (Mark) of Highlands, Texas and grandchildren, Pasley Maulfair and Alexis Ward.
