A. Haven Booher, age 77, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 4, 2015 at Holston Valley Medical Center.
He was born March 2, 1938 in Scott County, Virginia, son of the late Ray and Charmie Necessary Booher.
Haven retired from AFG Industries after 42½ years of service. He was a member of Gunnings Baptist Church. Before his illness, he was an avid walker and volunteered with Seedline Publications.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Virginia Lyda, brothers Lloyd Booher and Jim Booher, and daughter-in-law Vickie Booher.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Kay McFadden Booher; children Sheila (Mike) Jackson and Brad (Lora) Booher; grandchildren Melissa (David) White, Kristen (Andrew) Jay, Neil (Whitney) Jackson, Megan (Jared) Lovvorn, Scott Jackson, Caleb Booher; step-grandchildren Ryan and Aaron Finch; great grandson Jackson White; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 6:30 p.m. Sunday, December 6, 2015 in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with his son, Dr. Brad Booher officiating.
The interment will be held at Eastern Heights Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Louis Booher, Neil Jackson, Eddie Lyda, Guy McFadden and Charles Robinson. Honorary pallbearers will be Jess Roop and Jimmy Gardner.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Jess Roop and family, Dr. Richard Dickson and the nurses at Holston Valley Medical Center.
