Sara Ellen Thompson Henderson, age 82 of Carrollton, passed away Saturday, December 05, 2015 at Carrollton Manor Nursing Home. She was born December 31, 1932 in Carrollton, Georgia to the late S.W. Driver and Sara Cosper Driver. She worked as a seamstress with Sewell Manufacturing Company for more than 25 years, was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Rev. Kelley Thompson; stepson, Sam L. Henderson; and brother in law, Dewey Caldwell. Survivors include her husband, Rev. H.T. Henderson of Carrollton; sons, K. Steve Thompson (Kim) of Carrollton, and E. Allen Thompson (Shannon) of Brewton, AL; step-daughters, Sue Doleys (Dan) of Birmingham, AL, and Bonnie and Dr. Alan Posey of Covington, GA; sister, Sue Caldwell of Carrollton; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Peggy Driver of Carrollton; three grandchildren, Josh and Beverly Thompson, Katie Stone, and Samuel Thompson; sister-in-law, Betty Thompson Hall of Carrollton; four great-grandchildren, a number of step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, December 08, 2015 at 11:00 AM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Mike Harris and Rev. Josh Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in Abilene Baptist Church Cemetery. Those serving as pallbearers will be Rusty Caldwell, John Driver, Allen Spence, Johnny Spence, Rev. Anthony Puckett, and Joe Kierbow. Memorial contributions can be made to Shady Grove Baptist Church Family Life Center in her honor at 1293 Sand Hill Shady Grove Road, Carrollton, GA 30116.
