Musician. Leader of the Russian rock group Kino. His name is also spelled Choi, according to Korean tradition of his father's family. Tsoi organised his first group at the age of 12, and by the time he was 20 he was performing with established (but not officially approved) rock musicians. Perestroika allowed him mainstream exposure and to perform in concerts all around the country. He also appeared in the films "Needle" and "Assa". He died in a car crash at the peak of his popularity.
